GF Lunches For Your Kids!

One thing that celiacs are pretty limited to are school lunches. You have to find something that is simple, easy-ish to make, and something that your kid will want to eat! To give you some ideas my brother personally loves Lentil soup brought in a thermos and Peanut Butter Panda Puffs cereal in a baggie. But what I think is the best is a pb sandwich with Nutella, it tastes just like a pb & chocolate sandwich (so you know your kids will love it). And on the side you can always go with a bag of Doritos or a pudding/fruit cup. You should also check your school's lunch schedule for GF choices, I know my brother can have the veggie & fruit plate and tacos.  Be sure to get creative with your brown bagged lunches!

First Day!

Welcome to our blog! We are two friends who are blogging about food and art. We share and interest in gluten free foods, homemade and store bought. We can't wait to tell you what we have discovered. Hailey, whose sister, father and brother have Celiac has the inside scoop on how to get along everyday (ie school lunches, parties and sleepovers) leading a gluten free life. As for myself, I was a foodie and a baker who two years ago had to go gluten free.
The drama wasn't in the switch to the new diet, the drama was getting diagnosed after being sick for so long (more on that here)!
Our wish is to find interesting recipes and tips for your whole family (kids or grown ups) to be healthy and gluten free in easiest way possible. (It is not as hard as you think!)

I am a huge salad eater, everything I once put in a sandwich now gets dumped in a big bowl of leafy greens! (And I mean everything!) Above, fresh blanched green beans, farm fresh tomatoes and yellow squash. A little oil and vinegar (I can eat all sorts of vinegars...so use whatever kind works for you and ta-dah you are done!
